She helped Wisconsin reach the NCAA Final Four for the first time since 2013 and she was AVCA National and Big Ten Freshman of the Year. Cynthia was All-Big Ten and All-American. Cynthia D. ruled again as a sophomore.
In the Big Ten, she recorded the most assists (12.7) and second-most service aces (0.42). Her 10 hits, 54 assists, and 12 digs versus Minnesota made her Wisconsin’s first triple-double player. She was again selected Big Ten Setter and AVCA National Player of the Year.
She was a candidate for the Honda Award, given to the top female athlete in each discipline.
