Blackwell left Indiana for her hometown team, San Diego, after one season. She joined the Toreros as a rising sophomore with four years left. She wanted to play for a successful program and be closer to her family.
Blackwell helped San Diego reach the Final Four for the first time in program history in 2022. She was named All-WCC First Team, All-American Honorable Mention, AVCA Pacific South All-Region, and five WCC Defensive Player of the Week.
With 152 block assists, she shattered the nearly 30-year-old San Diego single-season record by 21. She topped the WCC with 176 blocks (24 solo) and 1.50 blocks per set, good for fifth and sixth nationwide. She had 232 kills and a team-high. 354.
